If you don't want to perform a Google search, you can type in the exact web address for a website and navigate directly to it. You don't need to type in www. before the address because Safari knows that all websites start with www.

If you visit a website frequently you can add the site to your Home Screen and have quick access to it. My dad likes to visit MSN.com everyday so he added that site to his home screen.

If you come across a website that you would like to reference in the future, you can bookmark it. I don't worry too much about where I bookmark my websites because I can always search for the bookmark by tapping on the omnibar and typing in something I remember about the bookmark and Safari will show bookmarks that match the search below the Google search results.

If you come across a website you want to share with someone, you can easily do so by sharing via Messages, Mail, Twitter, or Facebook.

If you are on a website and want to navigate to a different website without leaving the site you are already on, you can create a new tab.

I try to make it a habit of closing tabs once I am done looking at a website. This makes it easier to navigate between the tabs that you have open.

If you see a little circle with a triangle pointing to the left on top of a picture, it is indicating that it is a video. Tap on the play button and you can watch the video.
If at any point you don't see controls on the screen to pause, play, rewind, etc. tap on the video one time with your finger.
You can make the video go full screen by tapping on the two arrows pointing in opposite direction in the lower right hand corner.
If you come across a video that requires Flash you won't be able to watch it in Safari. Steve Jobs wrote a letter titled "Thoughts On Flash" that explains Apple's decision to not include Flash on iPads and iPhones.

Quickly scrolling to the top of the screen is a neat little trick that works in apps besides Safari. You have to simply tap on the Status bar (bar across the top of the screen) above where you want it to scroll to the top.
Maps
In iOS 7 (and iOS 6), Apple uses their own Maps data in the Maps app. In iOS 5 and earlier, Apple used Google data for the Maps app.

If an app is acting "weird" you can swipe up with four fingers to multitask and then slide up with one finger on the app that is causing trouble to quite it.
There is no need to quit apps outside of an app acting weird. It does not make your iPad run better. I never close apps on my iPad and my iPad works great!

Notification Center
This is how Apple describes Notification Center:
“Notification Center lets you know about new mail, missed calls, to-dos that need doing, and more. And a new feature called Today gives you a convenient summary of, well, today. One glance at your iPhone and you’ll know if it’s a certain someone’s birthday, if you’ll need an umbrella, or if traffic will slow down your commute. You’ll even get a heads-up on tomorrow. You can access Notification Center from any screen, including the Lock screen. Just swipe down. And get up to speed.”
