Once you have purchased an external hard drive you need to have software to backup your computer to the external hard drive. If you have a Mac, you already have software called Time Machine. If you are on a PC, I recommend that you download Genie Timeline Free.

The S stands for Secure and it means that you have a private connection to that particular website. The data sent between your computer and the server on the other end is encrypted.

A VPN or Virtual Private Network encrypts all of your traffic on the internet. Great for when using public Wi-Fi.

Two Factor Authentication makes it very difficult for someone to get into your account. Not only would they need your username and password, but also your cell phone.

Using your credit card ensures that if there was any fraud that you wouldn’t be out any money out of your personal checking account.

Setting up notifications on your various credit card accounts is a great way to find out about fraudulent charges within a very short time of them taking place. You can turn these on by visiting the website of the credit card provider.
